While making a sale, you can add a sales note, discount, or tip to your bill. If you're using the Yoco Neo, this can be actioned directly on the card machine, otherwise, if you're using another Yoco card machine, these features can be actioned from the Yoco app.

How to add a sales note
- Log in to the Yoco app
- Select a product to add to your bill, or enter an amount.
- You can choose to add a note to the entire bill, or to an individual product on the bill.
- An ENTER BILL NOTE pop-up will display, enter your note in here and select Save.
- Your sales note will now be displayed at the bottom of your bill.
Before finalising your sale, you can edit your note at any time by selecting the note displayed on your bill, the ENTER BILL NOTE pop up will display again, where you can edit the sales note. Select Save.
The Yoco Neo allows you to create sales notes directly from the card machine. You can make use of this feature by enabling the Sales Note feature under the Payment Settings menu.
Once this feature is enabled, you will be prompted to add a note when processing a sale. If you opt not to include a sales note, the sale goes ahead as per usual.
If you would like to add a sales note, you will be able to include your own personalised memo. An example may be to add a sales note of "coffee" for a product Sales Note, or "INV1234" for an invoice Sales Note.
How to add a discount to your bill
- Log in to the Yoco app
- Select a product to add to your bill, or enter an amount.
- You can choose to add a discount to the entire bill, or to an individual product on the bill.
- You can apply a discount in two ways:
- Once your discount has been applied, it will display at the bottom of your bill.
You can edit your discount at any time by selecting the discount and editing it before finalising your sale.
How to add a tip to your bill
- Adding a tip to the bill is done either by you or your customer, on the card machine itself. Before being able to add a tip to your bill, the tips feature must be activated. Follow these steps to activate the tips feature.
- After selecting Charge, select Card to process the payment
- There are two ways to add a tip:
- On the AMOUNT TENDERED screen, enter a larger amount than the sale amount, which is your sale amount plus your tip amount.
- Select Pay at the bottom right, which will then display prompts on your card reader asking your customer to add a tip or not.
- Press the green tick button to add a tip, or press the red X button to not add a tip.
- If the green tick button is pressed, add the tip amount in Rands, directly on the card machine.
- After the tip amount is entered, press the green tick button to continue processing the sale.
- The total amount for the customer to pay will now reflect the tip amount.
- On the AMOUNT TENDERED screen, enter a larger amount than the sale amount, which is your sale amount plus your tip amount.
You can accept tip payments from your customers by enabling the tips feature on the Yoco Neo. To activate tips, go to Menu >> Payment Settings >> Tips On.
Once enabled you will be able to select your default tip percentage, which will allow your customers to easily enter an automatic tip amount when processing a payment. Your customers can also choose to enter a custom tip amount.
When tips are enabled, the Neo will prompt your customers to choose whether or not they would like to add a tip. If they select No, the transaction will process without a tip amount. If they select Yes, they will be prompted to select or enter their preferred tip amount.
