Business Portal: Manage My Store

PORTAL: How to import and export your products (Beta)

Setting up your store should be easy. That's why we've created the Import Products and Export Products functionality. The feature is currently in Beta testing with a few select merchants. If you are interested in possibly doing some beta testing with us, please get in touch with us.

Here's how Import/Export works:

The setup

  1. When logged into the Business Portal, from the menu on the left, select Manage My Store, then Products.

  5. Adding your products to the template is simple. A quick way to get things started is to open the template in your favourite spreadsheet software and then replace Yoco Sample Product with your first product. Remember to change the price. Use Yoco Sample Product 2 as a template if you would like to add a product that has variants (Variants are described later in this article).
  6. Product ID. This is an important column on the spreadsheet. Yoco uses the Product ID to identify and group your products. For each product you add to the spreadsheet, we'll autogenerate a unique Product ID for each of your products. Products that have variants will share the same Product ID.

Troubleshooting import errors

Based on extensive research we have concluded that there some mistakes that are often made when importing products. Below you will find the common errors experienced by our many users and the simple yet effective ways of dealing with them.

How do you tell if there is an error on your spreadsheet?

On the CSV preview screen, we'll show you the number of errors we've detected followed by a red exclamation mark in a red triangle. We'll also highlight the errors for each row in the preview screen. Simply hovering your mouse pointer over the error will display a short message indicating the problem.
