Adding categories to your store

You can easily group and arrange the products you sell into brands and categories.

Why would you want to do this? For example, coffee can be bought from various brands such as Rosetta, Origin, Truth and Deluxe. But those same coffees can also be diversified into categories such as americano, espresso, etc.

You can create categories directly on the mobile apps or via the Business Portal.

How to set up categories

  1. On the top left of your app, select Menu, then MANAGE MY STORE, and then BRANDS AND CATEGORIES.
  2. On the next screen, select ADD top right, and from the dropdown menu, select Add category.

  3. On the Add Category screen, enter a name for the category that you'd like to add.
  4. On the tile preview section, select Edit Tile Appearance.

  5. Choose a background colour for the category tile.

  6. Select the tile appearance. There are three options available:
    1. Text - Which displays text on the category tile (max 4 characters)

    2. Icon - Which allows you to choose and display an icon on the category tile

    3. Image - Which allows you to choose an image for your category tile, either from your mobile phone gallery, or by taking a photo.

  7. Once you've chosen your tile appearance, select Done top right.

  8. Then select Add category bottom right.

  9. The category you've created will now display under the list of categories in the main Brands and Categories screen.


How to edit your categories

Once you've set up all your categories, you can easily edit them, or even delete them. Here's how.

  1. On the top left of your app, select Menu, then MANAGE MY STORE, and then BRANDS AND CATEGORIES
  2. Select the one you'd like to edit from the list of categories.
  3. Edit either the name, or tile appearance, or add a product to your category, and then select SAVE.
